HMRC's Racial and Gender Progression

Business in The Community has published the results of of the UK's largest race and gender benchmarking survey, and listed the top ten organisations (per category) for race and gender progression.

Kudos to HMRC for appearing in the both public sector top lists for ethnicity and gender.

Given that HMRC is able to score highly in this aspect of HR, why then does is score so poorly in all other aspects when measured by its own internal staff survey?

  1. ...but if you are disabled and cannot hit the ridiculous and unrealistic targets that the Pacesetter evangelists pluck out of thin air then you will be judged incapable and pushed out of the door. Reasonable adjustments lower productivity and therefore must be stamped out.

  2. At risk of repeating oneself, there are Lies, Damned Lies and HMRC statistics.
HMRC systems would have difficulty in compiling data from so many different "directorships" that they probably couldn't tell you what day it is never mind whether targets for ethnicity or gender have been reached.
Of course, if you tell an amalyst what you want the end result to read, then he who pays the piper calls the tune.
Are there still people out there who believe HMRC?
The "Muppets" will fall upon their swords over disability - they didn't even know the EQA had come into force until it was pointed out to them, and as for duty of care and vicarious liability...
Yes, they know what's coming,..hello boys it's Smee!
